>You're still misquoting jbor

The bits of text quoted from jbor's email are accurate, otherwise I've just
tried to restate what jbor appears to have said with regard to Pynchon, an
oxymoronic "ethical bio-technology", and Christianity, to see if I've
managed to untangle what so far seems rather murky. It sounds as if kai's
anti-biotech rap struck a nerve and that jbor was trying to buttress a
pro-biotech argument with a quote from Pynchon -- the last person I'd call
on to support a use of technology that seems primarily designed to enrich
more of the same multinational corporations (and their shareholders and
employees) that Pynchon shows waging war on nature throughout his oeuvre
and, specifically, profiting from the suffering in WWII in GR.

I hope jbor pays or otherwise rewards you for speaking on his behalf, Otto.
A dirty job, but somebody has to do it, I suppose. I admire your dedication.

I would be interested to hear how you might explain reading the Bible as
science fiction, not a genre association that would spring immediately to
my mind, but it sounds intriguing. If you don't already know about it, The
Urantia Book takes the Bible and gives it a wacky sci-fi spin; I'm sure it
would make handy fuel for your anti-religion rants.
