Probably Naive But Curious

Some former (perhaps they still read the list, I don't
know) P-listers have received replies from Pynchon,
through his agent/wife Melanie Jackson, to questions
posed on various topics. 

JS accused some P-listers, way back when, of writing
their posts as if they were currying favor with TRP
himself, or fearful of incurring his wrath, or some
such, back when he was generating copy for his screed
about TRP, painting himself as the only one bold and
brave enough to speak the truth about Pynchon. 

TRP's reply to JS, relayed through Melanie Jackson,
and presented -- I believe this to be accurate, I
didn't attend the meeting, but I had a chance to look
at the paper before it was presented -- at a Pynchon
conference in London some years ago, in a paper about
the controversy re JS on Pynchon-L, was, "He should
get a life" or words to that effect.

I doubt that Pynchon would waste time reading the
P-list.  I like to imagine him writing his next book.
