SLSL politics in the Intro WAS Re: SLSL Intro "The Way of Communication"

Nabokov's is a fine reminder.  At the same time, the
first session of SLSL takes as its topic the
Introduction, which is neither novel nor poem.

Since Pynchon brings politics into his own discussion
of the SL stories, I wonder if it's really beside the
point to discuss what he has to say on that topic in
the Intro. Apparently, TRP seems to think that
politics has something to do with his writing in this
era.
