Another subjective judgement:  what "won't yield
sense" -- "sense", like beauty, being in the eye of
the beholder.  What makes sense to you, for example:

>You keep throwing misdirected ring buoys only because
>the drowning man 
>is 
>Pynchon.

...might not make sense to another reader. Pynchon
manages to hold his own quite well, it's the P-listers
who are floundering about trying to decide what the
sentence in question here -- about people with powr
and money using racial difference in a
divide-and-conquer strategy -- might mean.
