That calls for an explanation, surely. DeLillo¹s operating in the backyard¹s
what I agree with. The rest is my mistake. I¹ve read White Noise + The Names
and they¹re both disappointing. I don¹t know if Œboring¹ is the word I¹m
looking for. Rather, I think, they (those two novels) have a sort of forced
meaningfulness to them (which is how he manages to enter that backyard)
without any substance. And besides that they¹re just pretty ordinary.
Nothing to worry about.
