Just short, my "working week" starts:
Believe it or not, I've never felt "occupied" by the US Army having freed us
from the nazis, the USAF being one of my father's first employers after WW
II (teaching him to fly in 1956, at Landsberg) after he quit driving for the
British Forces (his first job after being released from the American
pow-camp in France), thus feeding my family like your country has fed Berlin
during the crisis of 1948.
Got my first pair of jeans (used) as a present from one of his comrades.
Not to mention AFN . . .
Schröder hasn't brought up the issue, he's not at all anti-American.
According to the contracts (sic) the US may use the German bases in case of
any war and of course we will be happy to care for wounded gi's.
German troops just won't participate, that's all.
