Doug and Barbara try to argue this. Some puppets and cheerleaders, like
Jbframe shake a plastic pom-pom now and again but some ( unless you're
talkin sum--Doug's parade of puppets) some on this list don't do
anything of the sort. It's only Doug and you who can't imagine that
Pynchon is not a political genius.

There is no post in the archives that even suggests that anyone has ever
argued that Pynchon is a hawk. I'm wrong, please provide at least one
example.

A Patriot? What the hell does that mean?
Gee, barb, say something meaningful for once. Patriot? Respect for the
blah blah blah..... This sounds like Doug's set-up BS.

One will argue he's for the War on

What is "war on terrorism"? How would anyone know what Pynchon thinks
about this phrase or what it has come to mean after 9-11? And who the
hell cares? I like Roth as a novelist but I don't agree with his views
on terrorism. I like Pynchon but I think he has no real clew about
economics. Even his science is pretty piss poor.

It's gets intense at times. Sometimes I

Gee Barb, maybe you shouldn't worry so much about this stuff. I mean, it
is only a cyberspace listserve.

 A lot of leftward voices

Gee, I mean, I think the list here is pretty much tilted to the Left. If
you have not figured that out, Barb, you really are misreading the list.
The reason Doug gets accused of exploiting the multiple persona (and,
for example, with the exception of Doug's stupid complaints, I don't)
is because he abuses it and uses his puppets (or really tries and fails)
to win arguments.

I'm probably the most notable. Some say

Geee Barb, are you writing a book on fallacies?
