Needs no explanation, rings its own bell:

Adorno reading Balzac:

ŒIt didn¹t escape Freud¹s attention that not alone philosophy but also the
paraoid has a system. Everything is connected, everywhere connections
manifest themselves, everything serves a clandestine and cruel purpose.¹
ŒŠ the work of art itself for (Balzac) functions as the instance that
wide-rangingly encompasses the centrifugal forces of society.¹
ŒAt times (Balzac) implies knowledge of whole technical terminologies of
speciealized fields.¹
ŒŠ literary realism was overtaken because it as a representation of reality
misses reality.¹ ŒActual reality has slided into the functional.¹

Trasnslated from an unpublished Danish translation of the German, and I
don¹t have a reference on that; anyone know of an online version, German or
English?
