Not wanting to pick nits but Mason is in northern Ireland. The statelet
known as Northern Ireland only came into existence in 1922. And
regardless
of that, Mason is (I think) in Cavan which although in Ulster, is one of
the three counties of that province which are not part of Northern
Ireland.

I suspect Mr. P. is having fun with boundaries again.
