Can't recall anyone much claiming Pynchon an optimist
here, but I think he leaves room for both historical
and hermeneutic indeterminacy.  Biology, psychology
I've not given as much consideration, but ...

But I think we've an opening here not only for some
serious post-MDDM chit-chat, but also to segue into,
say, Vineland, if most everyone's up for it, given a
little R&R first.  Though, again, I'd hate to see this
list never quite get 'round to Slow Learner ...
