More proof that intelligent people in America don't understand the
fundamentals of Christian theology and history and are completely
baffled by Roman Catholic rituals.
Would these be Catholics in China, Brazil, New Orleans, and Boston?

Ask a Catholic in America if their Mass includes the eating of their god
and most, particularly those under 60 years of age, will say no. Of
course they don't know their religion. I mention this only because it's
an essential idea in every single Pynchon novel to date.
