I don't doubt it. I'm pretty certain there were some, even amongst American
soldiers, who thought it was an absolute atrocity and were horrified and
appalled by it as well. Either way, it doesn't have anything to do with
Slothrop or the text.

The Americans dropped an atomic bomb on an innocent civilian population, and
killed most of them. How's that?
