Foreword "Goofy Mustaches"

I do not necesarily disagree, but what's interesting
thing is that it's Pynchon saying it, with the
emphases that he chooses and the asides that he makes.
 I noticed in particular how formerly academic
buzzwords had now passed into Pynchonian discourse. 
E.g., "discourse."  Desire.  Et al.  But the point is,
ask not what Pynchon says about 1984 per se, but,
rather, what that "Foreword" says about Pynchon ...
