I'm less sceptical of Hector than you are, certainly. He's only a little cog
in a big (and corrupt, no question about that) system, and he's just making
a living best he can same as Zoyd and everyone else. I tend to take his
kindnesses, and Zoyd's self-deceptions and complicity with that system, at
face value more than you do. And that he's Mexican actually makes Hector's
"pachuco schtick" more authentic than it would otherwise be.

I've enjoyed sounding out and having to substantiate my interpretations with
you, and hearing yours. Thanks.
