The comparison in the text is simple-- persistent Romance. I'm not sure
why Paul decided to focus on the word persistent, but the "Romance" is
worth focusing on. 

Romance, as BV reminds Frenesi, is not like marriage, procreation,
family, children, and so on ... it's ideological (Sasha--Lefty
Ideology/Family). The DOJ, BV tells Frenesi,  can give her Romance,
Forever. 

VL is about Work: a conflict between two kinds of duty; A political and
economic system (Feudalism/Reaganism) and a "religious" or moral or
legal system (Chivalry/America) --principles, and customs, for things
like bravery, courtesy, honor, and gallantry toward women.
