Now this didn't come from a WC Fields movie.
Cliff's Notes, more likely, although probably not,
either -- Cliff's Notes usually provide handles and
hooks that lets the sophomore develop a topic, not
create an anchor designed to halt a conversation in
its tracks.

I love it the way T boils down what the novel's
"about" into one turgid paragraph, then cracks wise at
anybody who claims the novel's "about" anything else.

Then there's jbor's smarmy "nice try" approach which
turns what might be conversation into the scoring of
points.

T doing his best to derail Gumbo (who seems to be
working very hard to turn this into a literary
discussion instead of a session with the punching
bag).  T and Jbor jealous of Paul N and nitpicking his
posts.  

A real piece of work, you guys.
