Jan 25, 1984: Reagan instructs NASA to develop a permanently manned space
station within a decade (with an eye toward developing technology for the
Strategic Defense Initiative -- Space-Based Missile Defense -- or "Star
Wars").

Aug 11, 1984: Reagan, unaware of the open mic, jokes: "My fellow Americans,
I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw
Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."
