I think Vineland mentions Eureka and Arcata by name,
but the setting conforms most closely, imo, to
Garberville and the surrounding hillside settlements.

My best friend has a great house on some property a
few miles outside of Eureka, which began as an old
mobile home; it might not impress the odd demanding
armchair carpentry quarterback, but it's a very
comfortable, aesthetically pleasing place.
