I am singing "You Are My Hero" to Joe in a lady Saliva angst-ridden homage!  
Having lived, loved, divorced, toiled, taught, performed, gotten in 
low-speed/high damage car accidents, achieved degrees and defaulted on 
graduate school loans in the State of Rhode Island and the Providence 
Plantations. I can fully understand this new national imperative.  

He has, however, missed an important strategic opportunity:  OCCUPIED 
NARRAGANSETT!  From the great Atlantic House second floor deck we can mount 
missiles disguised under sun umbrellas and keep them trained on Newport perma
nently.  Let just one--JUST ONE--sweater-sloping, capped teeth-clenching, 
Sauvignon-drinking, platinum American Express card-bearing militant Newport 
First Congregationalist look askance at Point Judith and the jig will be up!  
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts can then become the independent empire God 
has always intended it to be and can add Narragansett, Bonnet Shores and the 
pastoral island of Jamestown to its watery provinces (all praise Cuttyhunk, 
Nantucket, the Elizabeth Islands and the grande dame, Martha's Vineyard). 
Only then can our children run free, same sex marriages become legal and 
covens of wiccans dance in the light of the moon!  TO ARMS, MES AMIS!
