Vector of Desire

According to a member of the Pynchon List, Nietzsche, in the prologue 
to Also Sprach Zarathustra, refers to people who yearn for the coming 
of the Übermensch as "Pfeile der Sehnsucht" which translates to 
"Arrows of longing." Don Larsson responded by pointing out a famous 
passage in William Blake:

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire;
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire.
