Interesting how many things in life come down to these binary axes:
1. We can't have a Pynchon list without politics.
2. We can't have a Pynchon list without Pynchon.
It's like darkness and light, eating each other to rebirth the world.

While in part I agree, keep in mind that we're in the age of
information overload. We can read newspapers; but does each newspaper
report the same news? Do the interesting articles often get
overlooked and/or never make it into the paper from the wire
services?
If it really gets insane, maybe we need a "Pynchon-lifestyles" list
somewhere also?

Maybe we should aim for a happy medium -or- enable digest mode?
That's often an excellent compromise.
I've learned a lot from the political stuff posted here, and have
passed it on to other groups who would probably never have sene it
otherwise. Cross-pollination?
