Group Read Headcount

Sadly, you seem rather threatened at the thought of Vineland having a couple
of more people interested. Equally sad is the way you seem to think of this
as a competition of sorts.

I think Pale Fire is an excellent choice for a group read on Pynchon-L; I
think Vineland is a better one. I am prepared to go with majority rule, and
help make the group read (whatever it is) as fulfilling a venture as
possible.

However, I still haven't seen a "blessing" from the list owners to go ahead
with reading Nabokov. And since this IS a Pynchon forum, and it HAS been a
long time since a Vineland read was conducted here, and that novel IS so
relevant to today's events, I don't see why Vineland seems like such a
horrible choice for some of you.
