That's what I said.

Because he's the one so vehemently opposed to what some others of us want to
do, going so far as to accuse "US" of of derailing other people's conversations
re. the 1984 intro (though if you check you'll see he contributed nothing but
complaints about other P-listers posts to that conversation). Yet he won't
commit himself to doing anything "Pynchon-related" (except more SPAMMING).

a bad idea, especially in the current political climate. At least with Pale
Fire nobody would be able to claim that Pynchon's take on "(__fill in the
blank__)" was "clear" and anyone who didn't see it was obviously a fascist (or
"sounded like" a fascist).

interpretation of any text in question.

If that's as far as it went nobody would care. It's why I won't even try to
respond to him anymore. It's less than worthless.

what you project on this list is reactive to Doug Millison. Jeez, man. NOW
who's gettin' twitchy ...

"Pojecting to the list?" No, not "the list." I am refering directly to one
person, the same one who opposes Pale Fire and the one I refer to just above.
And I have no interest in what is bound to result in a VLVL (except maybe if he
promises not to get involved in it).
