Your English is excellent. Translations can be OK but beware of 
retranslated translations. Of Playboy Japan interviews for instance.
Early in Pale Fire there's an interesting example of a retranslation.

Didn't Lucette's governess in Ada write "The Necklace?" (or accomplish
