As you all know I have a dead car, a bad credit rating and an increasingly
painful lower left molar that needs to be deleted soon...so I think I'm in a
position to say that endtimes dreaming ALWAYS feels best when your life is in
a downturn. When my car runs, my pockets have money and my teeth shine in a
healthy smile I have no sympathy for doomsdayers or even hippies. Everything
is a matter of perspective. And, speaking of war, here's something from
David Guterson that sounds realistic to me:

"His cynicism, a veteran's cynicism, was a thing that disturbed him all the
time. It seemed to him after the war that the world was thoroughly altered.
It was not even a thing he could explain to anybody, why it was that
everything was folly. People appeared enormously foolish to him. He
understood that they were only animated cavities full of jelly and strings
and liquids. He had seen the insides of jaggedly ripped-open dead people.
He knew, for instance, what brains looked like spilling out of somebody's
head. In the context of this, much of what went on in normal life seemed
wholly and disturbingly ridiculous."

PS: In my next life I shall either be or marry a dentist. I shall either be
or marry a mechanic. I shall either be or marry a successful financier. I
shall either be or marry a hippie poet reprobate--oh wait, my mistake, that's
THIS life!
