Can't The New Yorker find anyone more interesting to review DeLillo
than Updike?
Clearly there must be some allegorical aspects of Eric Packer's
ride through crosstown traffic- from near the UN to the far west side-
for a haircut, especially given current events. Updike doesn't even
mention Hendrix! The novel is only about two hundred pages, or so,
why can't we discuss it here while we're waiting for 1984?
It's either that or chaos, unless somebody wants to tackle the luddite
article, or god forbid, sloth.
