This remains the question that you seem afraid to
answer.

Except for those times you do pontificate, you mean.

Wrong. A few people who adopted this pose during the
SLSL now insist this Foreward can't be understood
(without reading it all, of course, and quite
obviously showing they can understand the Foreward
well enough to dissect and distort in order to prove
one or another prejudice they hold about Pynchon's
writing) and trips over each other trying to chop up
and blend Pynchon's words and phrases in ways that
purport to demonstrate how they can't understand it. 
Meanwhile, other P-listers manage to address the
Foreward directly and discuss it.

Because unlike you and the other pontificators, I'm
waiting to get a copy of the book and read the
Foreward in its entirety instead of prematurely
offering opinions that aren't grounded in a thorough
reading of the Foreward.
