You're splitting the hairs a bit finer than I am, s~Z,
and we're coming up with different counts of the
angels on that pinhead. 

PYNCHON-L remains the only venue I know of where the
word "shitty" is used to describe something Pynchon's
written -- accurate enough if you take "shitty" to
mean "about shit" of course, but wildly inappropriate
if you take "shitty" to mean anything like "worth no
more than excrement to be flushed down the toilet".
