why, pray tell should he state the obvious? In any
case, there is much in the foreward that is obvious
but let's remember this was written for foax who are
about to read 1984 and not the place for some
ham-handed screed about Bush. Pynchon, I believe is
pretty subtle about the implications that a novel like
1984 has on current events. And thank god for that.
