Also, not to confuse you further, I cited the opening
to Ms. Chiodo's undergraduate Orwell bio in response
to Millison's citing the appearance of the opium
reference at the beginning of the article as unusual
("what's this tid-bit doing here?"), then running his
silly argument from that supposedly obscure fact
("whatever else it does, using this
little-known-drug-history fact ..." etc.), which is,
in fact, a commonplace.
