And remember what was said on the news just afterwards how the terrorists purposely chose planes that were en route to California because they would be filled up with fuel and would ignite "like a bomb" on impact?

And remember how since 9/11, the nation has been scared shittless that that was just the beginning, and that any minute Saddam would sell a chemical bomb to the terrorists, or that they may somehow obtain  a "dirty bomb"?

But I guess "dirty bombs" don't "fall" either, so never mind. It's "patently absurd" of me even to consider it. If Pynchon had meant fuel bombs or dirty bombs, I'm sure he would have said "fuel bombs" or "dirty bombs."
