You can probably argue that he's "pretty much" saying
anything you want to argue.

Are we living in "fascistic times"?  I don't know what
that means, honestly.  If it's just the times that are
fascistic, it pretty much lets the politicians off the
hook, no?

And whether or not Pynchon's saying what you say he's
saying, I don't think it comes down to whether I
"believe" him or not, much as some of you read him
like scripture.  If that's what he's saying, I
disagree.  Describing the Bush administration as
fascist is (either) ignorant and (or) deliberately
inflammatory.
