Don't know about anyone else, but something tells me that IF there is a new
Pynchon novel to be published, it might be coming out within, say, the next
year.

In the past year P has published an Introduction to _1984_ *and* will have
made his Tubal debut on _The Simpsons_.

Doesn't past history show us that brief Pynchon "appearances" (whether
through blurbs, introductions, "Nearer My Couch, To Thee"s, etc.) usually
preceed the publication of a new P novel?
