Not quite. As he **took** her hand he leered genially. DL's comments
about keeping an eye on his feet are made **as** he took her hand. DL
says that Prairie just has to keep an eye on his feet and she'll be
fine. Why won't she be fine if she doesn't keep an eye on his feet? Is
he going to kick her?
