I didn't argue that the bar's name has anything to do with the
homosexuality in chapter one. 


Zoyd's transvestitism is an act, and to categorize it as "homosexual

I never characterized his act as homosexual. 


Even Lemay's advances (he keeps calling Zoyd "Cheryl"
> 8.12) don't necessarily fit the label.


Lemay knows that Zoyd is a man in a dress. He puts his hand on Zoyd's
leg and tries to make him. 

In Chapter Two Zoyd asks Prairie if she has ever dated loggers. His joke
about loggers at the log jam giving him money and phone numbers goes
straight over her head. 

Zoyd and Hector's Romance is described in homosexual terms, Zoyd and the
hippies being the pussy and cherries that Hector needs to pop and so on. 

Again, I'm simply calling attention to the fact that homosexuality
overtones are present in these early chapters. We've only just met DL
and we know very little of Brock.
