Genesis version was a purposeful misreading of Goddess religion icons, so
that Man with sharpened curved knife standing over sleeping man with naked
woman beside them refers to Oak King being slain by Holly King, while
Goddess/Mother awaits new consort/lover, rather than God creating Eve from
sleeping Adam's rib. James Metcalf created a suite of wood-engravings to
illustrate RG's thesis, which appear in the pricey Trianon Press
publication, printed in reddish brown.
