Hang on. A couple of days ago you were asserting that the "strife later on"
was "for the most part, the case". So, one moment you're arguing that there
was disunity ("strife", friction) between the various lobby groups (SDS,
PLP, the Black Panthers, for example) before the 1968-9 school year as well
as after; the next you're disclaiming that you've said anything of the sort.

There was "overlap" between the counterculture and the student movement,
particularly in 1964-8 where they were more or less synonymous and the
campuses provided the central focus and venue *for* the counterculture.
After '68, when SDS began to implode (and certainly after the 1970 march on
Washington following the murders at Kent State), the Weather Underground and
the Vietnam Vets anti-war organisations, the feminist and environmentalist
lobbies and the Native American, Chicano, environmentalist, and gay and
lesbian lobby groups were all still around and banging away separately on
their single issue platforms, but the student movement (and with it all the
major anti-war and civil rights demonstrations that had characterised the
earlier phase) had fallen in a heap.

The accusation that I've mixed up 1961 and 1964 or 1968 and 1971 is a
fantasy of your own device.
