I might have mentioned that this--that follows and
that I sent previously--was in response to Ghetta's
previous post.

I really used the word "strife" only once, saying:

<<That there was more strife later than what existed
at Berkeley--a single university campus during a
relatively brief period--well; how could it have been
otherwise?>>

I.e., any amount of strife or friction would be more
likely among many groups than within a single group.  

I could as easily have said "disunity" or "lack of
unity."

It was--pretty obviously I think--never part of my
argument to insist that these groups were at each
