And I must qualify my glib dismissal of Vineland, because until you've 
read and appreciated the Sanskrit translation, you just don't realize 
the Christian/Hindu thing codified in that elusive novel. That Pynchon 
puts the gee-whiz in genius. He is living testament to the simple but 
profound truth, "Everything You Need To Know You Learned In Sunday 
School."
