I figger the uke content justifies forwarding this. (The "I" is not me.)

>From Another List:
Last Friday night [Aug. 27] I went to an event called "Dubya's Ukulele
Farewell Party" at a club called Fez in the East Village. There were 17
different acts performing a song or two apiece, and each act featured a
different ukulele player. I've never seen so many ukuleles in one place!
Illeana Douglas (the actress) was the emcee, and the house was packed. Pder
and John Kruth performed "Columbia, Gem of the Ocean" and "This is My
Country", and there was even a group called Sonic Uke. It was a fun and
creative way to express dissent, and probably the only chance I'll get to
hear ukulele versions of "What's So Funny (Bout Peace, Love &
Understanding)" and "Yer Blues".
