The "Blues" (the feeling not only the music) was indeed very important. In
the autobiography of "Bommi" Baumann ("Wie alles anfing" - How all began), a
terrorist of the "Bewegung 2. Juni" (in Germany there were two terrorist
organisations during the seventies, the RAF and "Movement of June the second" which
referred to the killing of Benno Ohnesorge on June 2nd, 1967 by a policeman
during the demos against the Schah visit in Berlin) Baumann emphasizes that the
reason why he became a terrorist was the "blues" - a general feeling of
subversion. Baumann was one of the few real members of the working class in RAF and
June 2nd.
