Likewise, the Pisks are not taken in by the superficial hippie
scene- primarily white, and not unfairly described as rhythmically
challenged. Nor is there any reason for DL and Ditzah to coldly
present the films to Prairie without renewing their own fondness
for eachother and their shared past. They're allowed to be warm
and show emotion. Prairie appreciates that. It helps her to locate
her mom between these real women. She must be gratified that
they feel comfortable enough about themselves and their past
achievemennts with Frenesi to let their hair down in her presence.
Great writing for a man.

Is Ditzah showing the film ("reel after reel" of it, pp. 197-8) primarily
for Prairie's benefit, or so that she and DL can reminisce (see 196.4-10 in
particular)? What evidence is there in the text of Ditzah's supposed
"warmth" towards Prairie? Seems to me that she and DL become so engrossed in
their indulgent nostalgia trip that they forget that Prairie's even there.
