completely insipid review.  the novel is hilarious, real satire.  and the 
content is so confrontationally real relative to the other shit that passes 
for lit today, that houellebecq doesn't have to overwrite, he's in the zone 
and he knows it.  only a nance would not feel engaged by this novel--or a 
reactionary.  isn't the guardian a gay paper, anyway?  this buchan guy 
probably went to eton or something.  he's probably a tory ped who craves the 
lash.
