Italian *history* reads like a Pynchon novel. Conspiracy, paranoia, 
corruption, alternate histories, whatever. We are a black hole in the 
Western mind. It's odd Pynchon never set a whole book of his in our 
country, but you never know. The currently circulating rumors might 
be part of a panistaking disinformation strategy by the Invisible 
Man.
