I'm about halfway through Edith Grossman's new translation of Don Quixote, 
and though not blown away, but I still feel it's a valuable read for 
educational/background purposes, for a larger perspective on the history of 
fiction.  It's by no means a chore.

I also plan to read The Recognitions for my next "big" book, but I think 
I'll read Coetze's "Despair" first.
