um, like, guys, i haven't really wanted to be the one to, you know, like, 
tell you, but....


METAFICTION IS DEAD


it was a period thing, a narrative orientation to big science, back in the 
day when science was still better understood as allegory.  GR does not exist 
except in this way:  it is fundamentally a book about science and 
singularity, as is the recognitions.  now we know better, and science and 
its telos are so real (and hence, so uncanny) that the whole shebang has 
been bumped back into the realm of ethics.  how is one to live?  what are 
the options?  this is why no one gives a shit about delillo's post-neo 
radical bourgeois viewpoint, or wallace's exercises in polymathic perversion 
(now there's a guy who needs a vibrating butt plug).  this is why the 
corrections is my vote for what a real book looks like today, indeed, what a 
masterwork on a par with GR looks like today, and why the meta shit should 
best be left to the movies (e.g. demonlover, irreversible, prototypes of 
what movies will look like in 20, 30 years).
