pynchon & vollman

Since I am currently working on M&D and at the same time reading 
William Vollman's The Rifles, I wonder if the issue of Pynchon-
Vollman relationship has ever came up here, and if it hasn't I'd be 
rathers surprised, since they seem to be interested in the same 
things (Pynchon's M&D is a different take on the issues of Vollman's 
unfinished Seven Dreams, but they are moving more or less in the same 
territory).
