Howdy
God how I wish she hadn't ditched her band The Sugarcubes!
Know'm say'n? She and they were great. But then, I'm old. What do I
know?
She's Exhibit A (or Fig. 1) in any illustrated diatribe upon the
effects of unencumbered self-regard in a performing artist, which is a
shame since she has such a freaky-flexible voice and undeniable star
quality. Absent the structural support of strong collaborators moored
in a musical tradition she's lost by herself atop the mossy mountain of
her own fey fabulosity. IMOHO of course. I'll give her new one a spin
for old times sake tho because she's still so damned fascinatin'. Maybe
I just haven't been doing the right drugs. Any suggestions?
Mark
