re & furthermore ... VLVL Pynchon's eye for detail

the Thoreen book is an excellent read, but one must read p's novels
first. not always the practice round these parts where the google
machine now seems the only tool left in the box. 

PS the betrayal, we hope, hit it's high mark with john kerry. let us
pray that the old guard will pass the torch to a  new generation worthy
of the ideals outlined in sds's port huron statement, the document that
p never alludes to in vl ....
