If Nader was still serious about reform he would have proposed talks about
joining the Democrats a long time ago. With such an electorial system a
successfull third party will be unlikely forever. But I guess Nader in
Kerry's team would have diminshed the chances of the challenger the same way
too much moral support from Europe would do too. So it isn't easy to see how
reforms (which reforms?) you seem to have in mind could win a majority.
Isn't it a fact that the USA in general have become more Hawkish after 9-11?
The most recent polls show that Bush's advantage is the highest when the
question is terrorism. If the Democrats had chosen a candidate who had
opposed the war openly the lack of patriotism would have been the message at
the Republican Convention.
Leaving Iraq immediately is impossible. You cannot make such a mess and
simply leave.
